KISORO UGANDA: Police in Kisoro District have confirmed the shooting deaths of businessman Africano Nteziyaremye and his wife, Peace Kyompeire, in a late-night attack in Kisoro Municipality.
The couple was shot dead at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Zindiro Cell, Kamonyi Ward, while reportedly returning home from their wholesale shop.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime says detectives and a canine unit examined the crime scene as investigations began.
No arrests had been made by Sunday morning, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
Police have appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to report to the nearest police station.
