Born in the hills of Buhozi . Iremera , Andrew grew with energy, Zealand, and enthusiasm . He would later confront storms in life.

We grew up with Andrew, his siblings, Berna, Moses , and others . It is fond memories of the simple life of country life. Amata, umusururu, fresh foods , umubano. The mother , Umukyecuru Angelica, was very generous , as well legendary Kaka, Aunt Mukadisi Esteri Kabagambe.

Andrew was uncompromising, and we had vicious debates about the approach when we lived together for a year after school . I will review this, my recollections ! Reflections .

Childhood in the countryside was promising. Andrew kept dream alive .

On his last day, he woke up to attend a sacco meeting. He was to revive it and demand accountability. He collapsed on duty , was it diabetes. Pressure or poison . πŸ€”

In a few hours at Kisoro Hospital , Andrew was dead . Death has a way of surprise anyhow!

There were pending files to share with Hon. Barugahare Balaam. He looked forward to presenting his deep findings . He hated stealing and corruption .

Will the Kisoro people who admired Andrew Mugisha fight against corruption πŸ€” represent him when Ballam comes . Is it a lost battle?

Few years , Andrew mugisha compiled a report on tea scams, which he presented to many offices, including the fearless Col. Nakalema Edith of Statehouse . 50 billion had been lost to thieves and mafias . It was futile.

When Andrew worked at Electoral Commision, he was ambitious . He rose in ranks , had some power, made some small monies , married a beautiful muhoro. Muhima lady, 3 nice children, built. He started depending on accountability. He loved power , the powers threw him under the bus . He lost his job and resigned . The Secretary EC refused to pay his benefits. It went to court . Friends and relatives later helped and had his money πŸ’° paid.

We debated whether he would win at EC , he believed he would . One of our uncles , a man of influence , means warned him, he would swim alone . It came to pass, unfortunately. He lost the battle. Lesson, he should have listened to genuine guidance , advise .

Andrew loved the laws and courts. Later, when he relocated to Kisoro, he went into farming and human rights defender. He stepped on a number of toes. It seems he helped a number of people who are grateful.

Courts and police can be expensive . Andrew never gave up .

Out of love , at times, family , relatives , and friends would discourage him to reduce the number of cases. He was adamant .

Lesson, we need to keep praying for the spirit of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and discernment.

Andrew mugisha loved politics , he offered himself to be an MP for Bufumbira north in 2016. He lost . Politics is commercialised. There are undertones of ethnic politics , religion , tribe. Even if he had the funds , given his tough personality, some past misgivings, it was an uphill task . Lessons ….we need to study our history, surroundings with clarity. History is neutral.

I have followed debates, rumours, pain , whether Andrew succumbed to diabetes or has been eliminated , poisoned. It doesn’t matter. The journey on earth is over .

May God receive him, may he uphold and strengthen the mother , siblings. Life has been a struggle .

Andrew mugisha was a warrior, rwesa amacumi. He was unapologetic about his choices. We can’t judge . We can draw lessons .

Andrew mugisha, my nephew , friend, we shared much, debated, agreed, disagreed. You live at the Prime of Life. Ubatashe .

The struggle continues.

Taha . Utashe intwari. Hagumakamwe nabandi..

The questions of leadership remain foggy. The future remains.

Psalms 1

Andrew Mugisha , you are in a better place. Ruhuka.

The writer is Apostle Kwiringira B. Ruhamya Fred, who reflects on Andrew Mugisha’s life, death and unfinished fight against corruption, citing Isaiah 40:31.
