The football match was organised as part of activities leading up to the official launch of Metropolitan FM, which is scheduled to take place on 31st December 2026 during the Iwacu Festival.
The match provided an opportunity for Metropolitan FM staff and local leaders to interact with the community outside their normal professional duties, while also using sport and entertainment to strengthen the relationship between the radio station and its listeners.
From the opening whistle, both teams demonstrated determination, energy and a strong desire to win.
The Busanza leaders started strongly and controlled much of the first half, with their players maintaining possession and attempting to create opportunities in the Metropolitan FM defence.
Despite their dominance in possession, the Busanza leaders failed to convert their opportunities into goals.
Metropolitan FM, on the other hand, adopted a more defensive approach and relied heavily on quick counter-attacks whenever they won possession.
The radio station’s team created a number of opportunities through fast movements and counter-attacking football, but they also failed to find the back of the net.
The second half continued in a similar fashion, with both sides battling for control of the game.
The players displayed considerable energy and determination, while supporters on both sides continued cheering their respective teams.
However, despite several attempts from both teams, neither Metropolitan FM nor the Busanza leaders managed to score during normal playing time.
