Kisoro Municipality Registers Over 480 Households for Improved Service Delivery

More than 480 households in Kisoro Municipality have been registered by the Municipal Council as part of efforts to improve planning and service delivery through various government programmes.

Speaking in an interview from his office on Friday, Kisoro Municipality Town Clerk Richard Mugisha said the municipality has so far registered 480 households, a figure he said corresponds with data from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).

Mugisha said that once the registration exercise is completed, the information will be compiled and presented in different forms to guide planning and improve service delivery to residents through various government programmes.

He said municipal officials have visited different villages to register households, adding that those that have not yet been captured will be revisited and entered into the system so they can also be considered in government planning and programmes.

According to Mugisha, the registration will support the implementation of government programmes including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Youth Livelihood Programme, Emyooga, Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment (SAGE), and Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP), among others.

He explained that the information will also help the municipality identify households that have not received government support, as well as those that have benefited from different programmes, and assess how they have used or benefited from the support received.
