A total of 220 graduates are being awarded degrees, diplomas and certificates in various disciplines during the ceremony.
The university’s Substantive Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kato Kimata Joshua, says the institution has continued to grow due to its emphasis on practically based education.
Dr. Kimata revealed that more than 3,500 students were admitted in August alone, describing the development as a sign of the university’s continued growth.
He made the remarks during an interview with our reporter at the university headquarters ahead of the graduation ceremony.
Dr. Kimata said the guest of honour at the ceremony is His Royal Highness Isabaruuli Isabarongo Mwogezi Butamanya, the King of the Baruuli.
The university Chancellor and Emeritus Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. James William Ssebaggala, is presiding over the ceremony and conferring degrees and awarding diplomas and certificates to the graduates.
Dr. Kimata has invited members of the public to attend the ceremony physically or follow it through various media platforms broadcasting the event live, including Bukedde TV, Tiger FM, Country Radio, and the university’s social media platforms.
He explained that the graduates are among students who had already enrolled at the university when the current management took over the institution in 2024.
