The Bishop of Northwest Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Amos Magezi, has cautioned parents against reporting school administrators to government officials whenever they fail to meet certain school requirements.
Bishop Magezi made the remarks on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, during the concluding dedication service for candidates at Kijongo High School in Kijongo Sub County, Ibanda North, Ibanda District.
The dedication services, organised through the Office of the Diocesan Education Coordinator, began on September 22 at Ishongororo High School and were held in Church of Uganda-aided schools ahead of the 2026 final examinations.
Bishop Magezi urged parents to use established school structures and appropriate channels to address concerns rather than immediately reporting school administrators to District Education Officers, Resident District Commissioners and other authorities.
He also called upon parents to continue supporting candidates with scholastic materials and other necessities as they prepare for their final examinations.
Addressing the candidates, Bishop Magezi urged them to remain focused, attend revision programmes and preparatory lessons, and avoid distractions that could affect their academic performance.
He further encouraged the students to surrender their lives to God, seek His guidance, work hard and use their time wisely as they prepare for their future.
The Bishop commended parents, teachers, school administrators, PTAs, Boards of Governors and the local community for their contribution towards improving education standards.
He also appreciated the Government of Uganda for supporting schools with infrastructure, saying improved facilities have contributed to better learning conditions.
At Kijongo High School, 56 students are expected to sit their final examinations in 2026, while 57 candidates from Kijongo Primary School are also set to sit their final examinations this year.
