Justice Lubega thanked the people of Bukimbiri County in Kisoro District for consistently travelling to Kabale to attend court sessions despite the transport costs involved. He assured them that the judgment would be delivered on the scheduled date without further delays.

He also commended the candidates and their supporters for maintaining peaceful conduct throughout the proceedings.

Turyagyenda petitioned the court, challenging Kwizera’s victory in the Bukimbiri County parliamentary elections over alleged electoral irregularities, including voter bribery, harassment, intimidation and threats. He also alleged that some of his supporters had been injured during the election period.
