Bishop Magezi criticised parents who report school administrators to authorities when asked to provide basic requirements needed by their children at school.

He said some parents have neglected their responsibilities and instead blame school administrators for demanding essential requirements.

The Bishop noted that although the government has supported several schools, parents also have a responsibility to contribute to the education of their children by providing necessities such as school uniforms and other learning materials.

He tasked the administration of Nkondo Secondary School to remain vigilant in carrying out its responsibilities and ensure that students are adequately prepared for their final examinations.

Bishop Magezi also urged teachers to diligently perform their duties by giving learners sufficient time, attention and guidance. He emphasised that no student should be regarded as incapable of learning, arguing that learners can perform better when teachers effectively fulfil their responsibilities.

He further called upon non-teaching staff to support the schools by diligently carrying out their assigned duties.

The Bishop urged school committees to remain committed to their responsibilities, including holding regular meetings to identify challenges affecting the schools and find ways of improving academic performance.

He also called upon the foundation body, the Church, to remain actively involved in the affairs of the schools through regular monitoring and supervision.

Bishop Magezi attributed the success of learners to the collective efforts of different stakeholders, including government, parents, teachers, the Church and the wider community.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to create a supportive learning environment that enables students to remain in school, excel academically and successfully complete their education.
